| Redwood Highway 2004 15"h x 22.5"w oil on paper |
enlarged detail list of stories included in the painting |
In northwest California, an area known as The Redwood Empire, the redwood trees are majestic. While in their presence, one feels a sense of mystery, wonder and amazement. Tourist attractions have sprung up over the years that exalt and glorify the trees while adding a twist of mystery and mischief too. In the original oil painting, I have put together various images from this area. They portray local lore and legends, interspersed with the native flora and fauna.
